We are looking for a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Project manager with high energy and strong organisational and networking skills to join our global Operations Team in Switzerland. The GHG Manager will drive the development of GHG emissions reduction plans and targets together with an external party as part of holistic efforts to address climate change. This will require building strong ties with all departments in Lindt & Sprüngli, and engaging with staff globally to identify, understand and support execution of emissions reduction initiatives in all parts of the value chain.
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Be the primary liaison for an external consultant to help develop a structured approach to emission reduction targets and initiatives
  • Maintain clear line of sight and track project progress against project plan
  • Closely connect and integrate with the Sustainability Team to ensure alignment of overarching and company-wide developments related to sustainability governance, reporting, and risk management
  • Support implementation of suitable governance structures and processes to identify and drive emissions reduction initiatives
  • Identify local and Group focal points, and then connect and engage with those staff at different levels of seniority, and in close collaboration with external experts:
    • Establish a robust emissions baseline (Scope 1, 2, and 3), including data collection processes (with external support), verification, and systems identification and implementation
    • Build knowledge and awareness across the company on GHG accounting and management
    • Connect Lindt & Sprüngli companies and different functions for mutual learning and reduction benefits
    • Perform a resource and capability gap analysis for implementation of emissions reduction plans
    • Support communication effort internally and externally on emissions-related topics
    • Ultimately deliver a high-quality plan to drive emissions reductions across all scopes, and implement this in the company
The profile we are looking for:
  • Master’s degree in environmental studies, engineering, sustainability or comparable
  • 3-5 years working experience in managing emissions reduction and/or other GHG-related projects, either in an operational or corporate environment
  • Strong working knowledge of carbon accounting and reporting standards (scope 1, 2 and 3) including GHG Protocol. Familiarity with science-based targets, TCFD and CDP is a plus
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative operational and financial analyses and working with complex datasets
  • Transparent and clear communicator with persuasion and presentation skills
  • Hands-on, motivated and committed team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Experience in GHG target setting, energy efficiency, renewable energy, scope 3 CO2 reduction and compensation and land-use change projects a plus
  • Interested and able to work in multi-national environment and remote teams
  • Fluent spoken and written English, any other language (especially German) is a plus
  • Analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities while keeping attention to details
  • Sense of ownership, entrepreneurial mindset and independent and structured working behavior with ability prioritize and focus
