We are looking for a talented and motivated Raw Materials Sustainability Manager to join our global sustainability team in Switzerland. The Raw Materials Sustainability Manager will play a key role in the achievement of our goal to source 80% of our ingredients sustainably by 2025. Together with the other members of the sustainability team, the person will work with global and local procurement teams to implement the sustainable procurement roadmap 2025.
Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Develop sustainable procurement strategies, policies and internal guidance for collaboration with suppliers (ranging from certification to own programs).
  • Implement these sustainable procurement strategies with suppliers/NGOs/certification bodies/procurement teams/financial donors for selected raw and packaging materials (e.g. for coconut oil, milk, almonds, aluminum, etc.)
  • Track progress against sustainable procurement objectives
  • Participate in multi-stakeholder initiatives or industry platforms. Build and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders (e.g. civil society or , standard organizations) of the supply chains Monitor sustainability trends and issues in sustainable procurement and adapt current strategies
  • Collect and process data for analysis of premiums, prices and sustainability market trends
  • Be the go to person for sustainable procurement topics (excl. cocoa) for internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Drive internal and external reporting and communications related to sustainable procurement
The profile we are looking for:
  • Master degree in sustainability, agronomy, environmental studies, procurement or comparable
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in sustainable procurement within a corporate environment (ideally with a focus on raw and packaging materials in the food sector)
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills (NGOs, suppliers, etc.)
  • Experience in scope 3 CO2 reduction and compensation projects a plus
  • Strong communicator with persuasion and presentation skills
  • Interested and able to work in multi-national environment and remote teams
  • Fluent spoken and written English, any other language is a plus
  • Analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities while keeping attention to details
  • Sense of ownership, entrepreneurial mindset and independent and structured working behavior with ability prioritize and focus
  • Hands-on, motivated and committed team player with a “can-do” attitude
